Pressotherapy

What's Pressotherapy and what does it work for?

Pressotherapy

Body pressotherapy is a form of alternative medicine that uses compressed air to apply pressure to the skin. It is performed mainly for cosmetic purposes, although there are some studies that show positive effects on health.

The technique consists of wearing a special suit that contains a compressor and a pump. Once inside the suit, the patient lies down on a table and the compressor begins to pump air into the suit. The pressure level is adjusted based on the duration of the treatment, which ranges from 30 seconds to several minutes. Afterwards, the air is slowly released, allowing the skin to return to normal.

How does Pressotherapy work?

Pressotherapy is one of the most effective treatments for chronic pain and inflammation. This type of therapy uses high-pressure air jets to stimulate blood flow and improve circulation. When pressure is applied to a vein, it expands and allows blood to move more freely.

Pressotherapy works best when used in combination with other therapies such as acupuncture, reflexology, hydrotherapy, infrared sauna, ultrasound, cupping, etc. With the help of these massages, the lymphatic and circulatory systems are activated to perform drainage that will help eliminate toxins from the body, and other benefits.

What is Pressotherapy used for?

Body pressotherapy is a treatment based on the use of water jets, which are used to stimulate the skin and subcutaneous tissue. This technique consists of applying high-pressure water jets to specific points on the body, such as the feet, hands, face, abdomen, thighs, arms, legs, chest, neck, shoulders, ears, scalp, etc., according to the needs and preferences of each patient.

The lymphatic system is responsible for filtering toxins and waste products from our body. Additionally, it helps regulate immune function and plays a role in maintaining fluid balance. Lymph nodes help us fight infection and maintain healthy tissues throughout the body. When there is too much fluid in the tissues, lymphatic drainage is blocked. This causes swelling and discomfort.

Lymphatic massage is a gentle form of deep tissue massage that uses rhythmic compression and stretching techniques to stimulate the flow of lymphatic fluids. During lymphatic massage, the therapist applies firm, circular movements to the skin overlying the lymph nodes. These areas include the neck, chest, upper back, lower back, hips, buttocks, thighs, calves, ankles, hands, forearms, and feet.
