Rhinomodelation
Rhinomodelation: What is it and how is it performed?
Rhinomodeling consists of several steps that are carried out over a period of time. First, a detailed analysis of the patient's face is performed, including the shape of the nose, the size of the nostrils, the width of the nasal bridge, and the distance between the eyes. Subsequently, the best technique is chosen based on the needs of the patient. Finally, the filler material is applied to achieve the desired effect.
Rhinomodeling consists of procedures such as filling, sculpting, modeling, lifting, contouring, and reduction of excess skin. This type of procedure is used to correct problems such as:
- Bumps
- Depressions
- Asymmetry
- Narrow Nostrils
- Wide Nostrils
- Bulbous tip
- Thick Nasal Bridge
- Fine Nose Bridge
- Large Nostril Size
- Small Nostril Size
- Fallen Tip
- Protruding tip
- Long nose
- Small nose
Rhinomodeling is performed using injectable fillers, fat grafting, laser treatments, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, radiofrequency ablation, dermal fillers, Botox injections, and surgical options.
How is Rhinomodeling performed?
The procedure begins with a consultation to find out what you want to achieve and we will explain how we are going to do it.
Local anesthesia is used, making the patient comfortable throughout the treatment. A small incision is made in the skin of the nose and a blunt cannula is inserted through the opening. A syringe is then placed inside the nose to slowly inject the solution. Once the infiltration is complete, the wound is closed with sutures.
Rhinomodeling without surgery can be favored in some cases by the application of a tensor thread to achieve a greater elevation of the nasal tip. This type of procedure consists of applying threads to tighten the skin of the nose, which causes a natural elevation of the tip.
The most common complications associated with this method include a slight edema on both sides of the nose, which usually disappears in a few hours.
Rhinomodeling Advantages
Rhinomodeling is a technique that is also used to treat sinusitis. It can be used as an alternative to surgery or in conjunction with other treatments. Rhinomodeling has been shown to reduce inflammation and improve symptoms of chronic sinusitis.
The benefits of rhinomodeling are temporary and last up to two years. After that period, the material dissolves naturally and the nose returns to its original shape. However it is possible to repeat the injection process to maintain the desired changes.
Rhinomodeling and Rhinoplasty
The nose is one of the most important facial elements because it represents the bridge between our face and the upper respiratory tract. Its function is to protect the airways and allow us to breathe easily. However, there are some people who suffer from nasal deformities that make them feel uncomfortable and even cause respiratory disorders. In fact, according to statistics, around 20% of the population suffers from some type of nasal defect.
In addition to cosmetic reasons, there are several medical conditions that require plastic surgery of the nose, such as trauma, tumors, infections, etc.
For those who want to change their nose, there are different options depending on what you want to do. There are procedures that modify the shape of the nose, others that correct anatomical deficiencies and others that improve the functionality of the nose.
Among the techniques used to modify the nose, we find Rhinoplasty and rhinomodeling. These terms refer to the same thing, although each one refers to a specific technique.
Rhinoplasty consists of making changes to the external contour of the nose. This procedure can be done alone or combined with other surgeries. They are modifications that involve the removal of bone tissue or cartilage, thus changing the structure of the nose. They are indicated for patients with severe deformities or asymmetries.
Rhinomodeling is a technique that uses fillers to increase volume and reshape the nose. It can be done in combination with Rhinoplasty.
